World Series GM3: ‘What?’

Weird, day people.

Pretty much why we're obsessed with baseball. There are about a million different ways to walk off a World Series game, and the Cardinals & Red Sox found 1,000,001.

It started out with a good omen, right? After all, I was standing next to the same person I went to World Series GM6 in 2011 with. Then we saw this guy:

That is awesome. And I want one.

The crowd was amped. The weather was cool, but not too cool. The backlit Ballpark Village was splendid:

Then the Cardinals had a 2 run lead. Then they blew it. So they got the 2 run lead back again. Then they blew it. So they went ahead and had this happen:

I could watch that on an endless loop for days.

Was I there? Yes. Did I get a spectacular crowd shot right after this play to share with everyone today? You bet:

I might have a future in photography.

What a moment. Trust me when I tell you I'm not a popular man. I have friends, yes. But many a weekend night has passed without a single text. Last night, though? People wanted to talk about 'the play':

The only bad thing? We've only got a few hours before we get put through the emotional torture that is World Series baseball all over again.

Wouldn't have it any other way.
