It’s Jeeetah. It’s CC. It’s the New York Freakin’ Yankees.
And they’re coming to St. Louis May 24-26th to make sure that Mr. Jeter gets a lifetime supply of Imo’s gift cards and miniature arches to put in his overnight party gift bags.
Interest in ‘The Captain’ and his teammates is red-hot.
According to Forbes magazine, it is MLB’s highest price ticket for the first half of the season. On the secondary market (think StubHub/Vivid Seats) the median price for ticket on May 26th is $147. The average ticket price is $169 for the same game game.
The next closest is the Cubs at White Sox on 05/08 ($138/136 respectively). The Cardinals don’t make another appearance on the top 25 list of most expensive games (home or away).
So it’s no surprise that the Cardinals aren’t featured more. At the same time, you have to wonder if the price is being driven up by (GASP!) Yankee fans invading the city for Memorial Day.
