LeBron James Chooses… The St. Louis Cardinals

Ok, not really.

But dang, wouldn’t that be awesome if he pulled an MJ and ended up in the Cardinals organization? At this point in the speculation, I wouldn’t totally rule it out, no matter how small the chances.

I can already hear the payroll truthers now… ‘how we gon’ afford Boone Whiting in 2021 when he’s arbitration eligible if we’re paying James more than he’s worth?’

Lebron STL

Number 6 is already taken, but 23? No offense to STL dude David Freese and Simba, but I think Bron Bron can at least rank higher than most of these former Cards:

  • David Freese (2009-2013)
  • Brian Barden (2008-2009)
  • Anthony Reyes (2006-2008)
  • Cal Eldred (2003-2005)
  • Jamey Wright (2002)
  • Luis Saturria (2001)
  • Fernando Tatis (1998-2000)
  • Luis Ordaz (1998)
  • Phil Plantier (1997)
  • Mark Sweeney (1996-1997)
  • Bernard Gilkey (1990-1995)
  • Tom Brunansky (1988-1990)
  • Dan Driessen (1987)
  • Alan Knicely (1986)
  • Tom Nieto (1984-1985)
  • Orlando Sanchez (1981-1983)
  • Ted Simmons (1968-1980)
  • Jack Lamabe (1967)
  • Tito Francona (1965-1966)
  • Charlie James (1960-1964)
  • Cal Browning (1960)
  • Sam Jones (1957-1958)
  • Tom Poholsky (1954-1956)
  • Larry Miggins (1952)
  • Max Lanier (1940-1951)
  • Cloyd Boyer (1949)
  • Del Wilber (1946-1948)
  • George Dockins (1945)
  • Ken Raffensberger (1939)
  • Bob Repass (1939)
  • George Earnshaw (1936)
  • Allyn Stout (1933)
  • Syl Johnson (1932)

I guess we can keep dreaming. But Ballpark village is really cool, Mr. James. You should check it out before making any decisions.
