That was a bit of click bait. But it’s also TRUE! (At least according to this post from the new FiveThrityEight.com)
We wrote about the Cardinals Facebook popularity (link here), but Mr. Silver noted that that data can be a bit misleading, at least visually, since some counties in the U.S. have very sparse populations.
So he (and I quote) “(L)isted each team’s popularity on Google, the relative size of its TV market (markets with two teams are divided evenly between them), and then taken the ratio between the two.”
Still can’t beat the damn Red Sox, but more popular than the Yankees? NATE SILVER SAID SO!
